Remember when you were a kid and mom loved everything you made her (even those strange kitchen concoctions)? Your desire to give mom the perfect gift may never change but thankfully your DIY skills do! Try these fun projects to craft that homemade, yet useful, gift that mom will absolutely love.
Oh and did we mention these include a bit of rhinestone bling? But of course darling!
Rhinestone Cuff Bracelet
This one is so simple but absolutely beautiful! Every woman needs a statement piece for her outfit and your mom will love dressing up any look with this gorgeous rhinestone cuff.
What you need:
Plain cuff metal bracelet
Rhinestones of your choice (multiple sizes look great!)
Hot glue gun
The process:
Get the glue gun heated up and ready nearby. Before you glue anything, get an idea of how you want to arrange your rhinestones. Line them up in the pattern of your choice so you can access them easily while keeping your design in mind.
Start with the larger rhinestones and glue them to the cuff. Then fill in the gaps with the smaller rhinestone. Let it cool and you are done!
iPhone Case
We are going to bet that once you complete this project for mom, you will be making one for yourself! This is the perfect gift for anyone who loves bling (and really, who DOESN’T?).
What you need:
Plain removal iPhone case
Flatback rhinestones of your choice
Glue
The process:
Pour the rhinestones you plan on using onto a paper plate. Turn them so they are right-side up, this way you can see all the colors clearly. Using another paper plate, draw the design you have in mind so that you have a plan before you get started. Next, pick up the flatback rhinestones, apply a dab of glue and attach it to the case. Continue doing this in the design of your choice. Use small stones or glitter to fill in any gaps between stones, allow to dry for 24 hours and wrap up the perfect gift.
Picture Frame
Most moms love having photos of their family everywhere. Whether on her desk at work or on her dresser at home, photos remind her of the many loved ones in her life. Make her one of these DIY rhinestone photo frames and watch her face light up when she opens her gift on Mother’s Day.
What you need:
Rhinestones (either stranded or individual)
Plain 5×7 picture frames from a craft store
clear glue
Tooth picks
The process:
If you are using stranded rhinestones, begin my cutting the strands into rows the size of the fame. If you are using loose rhinestones, just place them in the arrangement you will be using. Using the tooth picks, carefully apply the glue to the back of the rhinestones. Continue until all are used and then let the glue dry.
