Back to School Bling

With the new school year approaching rapidly, lots of parents are looking for cool fashions that their kids will be excited to wear to school. Back to school bling is one of the hottest trends that lets you add all kinds of rhinestones to whatever you like! Here are a few things you can bling out for the new school year:

1. Backpacks, Messenger Bags, and Tote Bags

Gluing on rhinestones is a great way to add a little pizzazz to an otherwise drab backpack, tote bag, or messenger bag. If you don’t want to mess around with messy adhesives and glues, there are also sew-on rhinestones and European crystals you can use.

2. Phone Cases

If you don’t feel like shelling out the cash for a phone case that comes pre-jeweled or you are looking for a little more room for creativity, you can always buy your own rhinestones and add a few on yourself! You can also use European crystals for something a little more resilient.

3. Shoes

Tennis shoes look extra glamorous and fun with the shine of added rhinestones and crystals. They can breathe new life into a pair of sneakers that are getting a little worn, or they can spice up a new pair that seems kind of plain. Why not add a few colorful stones that match the color of the shoe for an extra “kick”? Be sure to only add them on the top, by the way– the sides of your child’s shoes really take a beating.

4. Shirts

Shirts offer the most versatility, and the most room! A European crystal design that spells out your child’s name or is arranged in a cute little heart is a great way to personalize your child’s style and add a little bling.

5. Purses

Much like handbags and backpacks, purses can also be given a personalized glam look with rhinestones. You can add some that match the color of the purse, or try mixing and matching colors for a wilder, more colorful look!

6. Jeans

Are your child’s jeans starting to get a little worn? Do they look a little plain? Bling them out with a few rhinestones in your child’s favorite colors, and watch as their friends try to imitate the cool style!

7. Pencil bags

Pencil bags have always been a cool, customizable school supply that kids draw on, paint on, and even add stickers to. Why not take it to the next level and add a little bling? You can add European crystals or rhinestones and make cool designs and patterns that catch every classmate’s eye.

8. Binders

If your child uses a binder to hold all their classwork and handouts, rhinestones can add a creative flair that goes beyond the usual funky patterns and popular cartoon characters. Give it a try!

Your kiddo might not be very excited that summer is coming to an end, but they will definitely change their tune when they see their new blinged-out school gear! Not only is adding rhinestones a great way to include a personal touch, but it is also lots of fun and lets you spend a little quality crafting time with your little one.
